Sustainability
Today, in addition to environmental issues such as preventing environmental pollution, taking measures against global warming and protecting biodiversity, social issues such as gender equality, increasing women's employment, occupational health and safety, preventing child labor and protecting cultural heritage have gained great importance on a global scale. DestekBank is aware that in a rapidly changing world, there are many problems ranging from climate change to socio-economic inequalities and believes that sustainable banking plays a critical role in this process.
Our Bank prioritizes taking an active role in the fight against climate change and contributing to Turkey's transition to a low carbon economy.
In this direction, our Bank conducts all its activities within the framework of sustainable development principles. The Sustainable Development Policy prepared in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, was approved by the Bank Management Board on July 24, 2023 and came into effect.
To effectively manage this process, a Sustainable Committee and a Sustainable Sub-Committee, affiliated with this committee, were established to monitor the environmental and social impacts.
In addition, with an awareness of promoting social gender equality, increasing the ratio of female managers and employees is among the priority targets of DestekBank. Female employment is encouraged through equal opportunities in the recruitment process.
Digitalization is at the center of our sustainable development policies. Paper consumption is reduced to increase operational efficiency and to adopt a work model that is environmentally friendly. Customer transactions and internal operations are reviewed to prevent unnecessary or incorrect printing, technical and administrative measures are taken to manage institutional waste, and waste sorting and recycling processes are effectively implemented, which highlights our Bank's commitment to environmental sustainability.
